Baking Cookies

Do you love warm cookies right out of the oven?  It is one of my favorite!  I am definitely a cookie monster.

Grandma Fuhriman made really delicious cookies. I thought that she put all the good things in one cookie.  They were so good.  She had chocolate chips, coconut,  nuts, oatmeal and nuts.  One of Opas favorite cookie that Grandma Fuhriman use to make are ginger snaps.  The first time I made ginger snaps from Grandma Fuhrimans recipe, Opa said, "Yes, they are good but not as good as my moms."  Nothing beats moms cookies right out of the oven.

I like to have children help me with making cookies.  I especially enjoy watching a child crack an egg for the first time and learning to measure.  Do you remember making cookies with me?

 I have a lot of wonderful memories of helping my mom in the kitchen.  My mom made great cookies also but my moms specialty were pies.   She use to make pie dough cookies with the left over pie dough.  She would sprinkle it with sugar and cinnamon and bake them. 

I wish I was there with you to make your cookies..............
